Please browse around and find the history behind the Luray Fire Department. Organized in 1901 we still remain 100% volunteer! We are organized as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Each and every member of this Company is dedicated to protecting life and property in the community which we live and serve.
The Luray Fire Department is currently accepting applications for membership, Senior Department and Jr. Department. Applications will be accepted beginning now thru June. Applications received by the June meeting will be voted on in July and applications received by the December meeting will be voted on in January. Applicants that are accepted to senior membership with be made a probationary member in July or January for a period of 12 months. Interested individuals may pick up an application at the Fire Department. There is a $5.00 application fee and a background check will be conducted. Applicants must be 16 years of age for the Jr. Department and 18 for the Senior Department.
